Dora: The Federal Student Aid system provides billions of dollars of financial aid to US students every year, but, the system is designed to promote at least certificate or degree-level training, not a short series of career prep courses. If you are looking for financial aid assistance, I would strongly recommend that you look for schools that participate in the Federal Student Aid program, and that you confer with the admissions department, in order to ensure that the coursework that you have in mind will qualify you for financial aid. It is very possible that a school can offer aid for some of its programs and not for others, so that's why it's very important that you verify that your specific program is eligible, and not just the school itself. Finding a school that offers aid is critical for 2 reasons - not just because you need the financial help. When schools apply to participate in the Federal Student Aid program, the Department of Education begins a thorough investigation of the school and its programs. They verify that the school is well-established and stable, that the management is professional and honest, that the instructors are qualified, that admission is limited to applicants who can actually benefit from the education that is offered, and most importantly of all, that the school's graduates are successful at finding jobs in that field. It really don't make a lot of sense to attend a school that can't satisfy the Department of Education's perfectly sensible requirements. They are for your benefit. Once you have confirmed that your school AND your program are aid-eligible, you will need to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (better known as the FAFSA). The financial aid system uses that form to determine your ability to pay for your own schooling - and that's the starting point for determining how much assistance you might qualify for. Good luck - I hope that helps you!
